SUMMARY:Local Global Discussion Group - Indonesia
DESCRIPTION:Local Global Discussion Group\n\nIndonesia may well be the
world's largest tiny nation. Despite having the world's fourth largest
population and its largest number of Muslim inhabitants\, Indonesia
maintains a very low profile internationally -- aside from being a
benevolent big brother in ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian
Nations).\n\nWith more than 17\,000 islands\, Indonesia stretches some
3\,000 miles in a graceful archipelago from the South Pacific to the Indian
Ocean\n\nCome learn more about this fascinating country next Tuesday\, Feb.
4 from 1:15 to about 2:30 pm in the Community Room of the Weston Public
Library. There will be a short presentation on Indonesia's history and
government\, followed by a video prepared by the Foreign Policy
Association. We will then take a look at some of Indonesia's unique
culture: the gamelan (brass percussion orchestra)\, shadow puppetry\, and
batik-making. The remainder of the session will be devoted to free
discussion.\n\nSusan Wagner will be the presenter\n\nYou can join either in
person or via Zoom. The Zoom link is
