SUMMARY:Mary Jo Rines Gallery Exhibit - Photographer Jim Wojno
DESCRIPTION:First Parish Church in Weston is thrilled to welcome
photographer Jim Wojno to the Mary Jo Rines Gallery for an exhibit inspired
by dramatic light\, expansive space\, and the spirituality of nature. On
view through April 5\, Serene Landscapes features painterly color
photographs that convey the artist’s appreciation of some of his
favorites places to explore and photograph\, including the American
 Southwest\, Martha’s Vineyard\, Cape Cod\, Hawaii\, Costa Rica\, and
Italy. Combining thoughtful composition in the field and digital darkroom
techniques\, Wojno translates the emotional and spiritual experience of a
landscape into a two-dimensional image and offers contemplative views of
 nature as a source of “silence\, renewal\, mystery\, and awareness of a
great life-giving spirit”.  \n\nWojno is a member of the Concord Center
for the Visual Arts and has been featured in two recent annual Frances N.
Roddy Exhibitions\, as well as multiple Members’ exhibitions. His solo
exhibitions include Bridgewater State College\, South Shore Art Center in
Cohasset\, Parish Center for the Arts Gallery in Westford\, the Lincoln
Public Library\, and the Jewish Community Center in Worcester. His work has
also been shown in galleries in the Provincetown Art Association Museum\,
and the Boston Center for the Arts. Wojno has received awards from the
South Shore Art Center and the Organization for the Assabet River.\n\nYou
can find more of Wojno’s work in the Mary Jo Rines Virtual Gallery\,
where\, in addition to Serene Landscapes\, he shares collections of
monochromatic and architecture-inspired works.\n\nThe photographs in this
exhibit are for sale (price list)\, and we invite you to direct any
inquiries to Larry Grob (617-817-3123 or lagrob@mac.com) for an
introduction to the artist.   All of the images in both the physical and
virtual gallery can be ordered in the large 28” x 22” size.
