DESCRIPTION:For more than three decades\, Beverly Sills captured America's
 heart with her silvery voice\, glorious artistry\, irrepressible
 personality and self-deprecating humor. She demystified opera-and fine arts
 in general.\n\nHer life embodied an archetypal American story of humble
 origins\, years of struggle\, family tragedy and artistic triumph.\n\nThis
 lecture is free and open to the public.\n\nSpeaker Erika Reitshamer is
 returning to the Weston Library. She has lectured on opera for many years
 in the greater Boston area. She was active in the formation of the Boston
 Lyric Opera Company\, led opera tours to Europe and served as VP of the
 Boston Wagner Society.
