Meeting to discuss Improvements Planned for Norumbega Road and Park in Weston
The public is invited to an informational meeting regarding proposed improvements to Norumbega Road and Park to be held in the conference room in the lower level of Weston Town Hall at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. Norumbega Road and Park are owned by the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR).
The Select Board hopes to reclaim this beautiful but neglected riverfront park for public enjoyment by residents of Weston and surrounding towns. Located in Weston to the east of Rt. 95, Norumbega Park is in a little-traveled area of Weston. Featuring Charles River frontage, the old stone Norumbega Tower, and some beautiful but underused trails, the area will benefit from improvements to both the road and the park. The Town, with the assistance of the Solomon Foundation, has hired Howard Stein Hudson (HSH), engineers, to assess the feasibility of road improvements.
Dan Driscoll, Director of Green Transportation at DCR, and Matt DiGiacomo and Angela Bleeker of HSH, will discuss proposed improvements to Norumbega Road and Norumbega Park.
After the meeting, those who are interested are welcome to participate in a walk along Norumbega Road to see the site of the proposed work.
