National History Day is a non-profit organization whose mission is “to improve the teaching and learning of history. Its flagship event is an annual competition where students in grades 6-12 develop presentations based on the year’s prompt.  “Rights and Responsibilities in History” provided inspiration for historical research and inquiry, interpretation and creative expression using primary and secondary source research.

This past spring, after winning the Regional National History Day Competition, Weston High School juniors, now seniors, Nate Ko and JJ Cutter competed at the state level with their documentary “Secrets of the Golden Ball: Spies, Tea and Treason.”

Join us on Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 12:00pm-1:30pm at the Weston
Public Library for a showing of their short documentary followed by a Q&A session to
discuss their process, research methods and surprising findings about the Golden Ball Tavern, Isaac Jones and Weston’s role in the time leading up to the American
Revolution.

You can register to attend (admission is free) HERE.  Registration is preferred for planning but you are welcome to just show up!
