Medical Supply Donation Drive for Ukrainian Soldiers First Parish Church in Weston
Through February 22
As the war in Ukraine enters its fourth year, the need to support Ukrainian soldiers remains urgent. They continue to endure extreme conditions while defending the values of freedom and sovereignty we all share.
Inspired by a friend who volunteered on the Polish-Ukrainian border and volunteers worldwide helping Ukrainians, Weston resident Ginnie Hibbard is organizing a medical supply donation drive through February 22. Donations will be sent to Bright Jar, a nonprofit providing humanitarian aid in hard-to-reach areas of Ukraine.
Requested supplies include:
First aid kits, gloves, bandages, gauze, antiseptic wipes, tapes and wraps, compression dressings, hemostatic pads, surgical scissors, suture kits, orthopedic supports (wraps, slings, splints), syringes/insulin syringes, tourniquets, burn sheets, and cervical immobilizers. If you have hospital, fire department, or clinic connections, they are great resources for surplus supplies.
Drop off location: Marked bins in the breezeway of First Parish Church in Weston and vestibule outside the church offices.
Deadline: Sunday, February 22
Monetary donations:
Bright Jar is also seeking funds to purchase pain medication, antibiotics, and anesthetics as well as critical combat supplies (drone parts, camouflage drone nets, body armor, and optics).
If you would like to donate funds, there are two options:
1.) Under $100 (not tax-deductible): Check payable to Jane Elliott, or 2.) $100 or more (tax-deductible): Check payable to Village Forward
Mail checks to: Jane Elliott, 371 River Road, Carlisle, MA 01741
Every donation is a meaningful act of solidarity. Thank you for standing with Ukraine! Questions? Contact Ginnie Hibbard at vshibbard@gmail.com.
