And now for something completely different!

The Music Committee of the Friends of the Weston Public Library is excited to invite you to the Library’s Community Room on Sunday, November 17th at 3 p.m. to enjoy an afternoon of Irish music in many forms. Our artists, Dan Accardi (fiddle), Helen Kuhar (guitar, song), Rebecca McGowan (step dance), and Natasha Sheehy (button accordion) will share with us their appreciation for the essential connection between dance and music in a unique performance combining the rhythm and lilt of Irish music with the literal toe-tapping percussion of Irish step dance. In this performance, a “conversation” among their instruments, shoes, and voices will create complex layers of sound, encouraging the audience to listen closely to the music in a new and completely engaging way. All ages will enjoy this rollicking presentation – be prepared to hear music making where the percussive sounds of dance join and enhance instruments and voices to create an energetic whole!

The musicians are (clockwise from top left): Natasha Sheehy, button accordion; Dan Accardi, fiddle; Rebecca McGowan, step dance; and Helen Kuhar, guitar, song.

Free and open to the public.
