Joel Angiolillo will lead a fairly flat hike around College Pond and the former Merriam Estate. In 1976, 145 acres belonging to Weston College/Campion Center came up for sale and after much debate the town decided to purchase this diverse area of woods, ponds, swamps, trails, stone walls, and fields for sports. The hike will also take in the Weston apple orchard and the ruins of the massive and handsome Merriam Barn. Meet at Burchard Park, just off Concord Road. Dogs on leash or under voice control are welcome. Wear sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. The hike will last approximately an hour and a half. Please call to register at 781-786-6280.
