SUMMARY:Winter Solstice Dawn Hike
DESCRIPTION:The Winter Solstice\, the shortest day of the year\, is
Sunday\, December 21st. Sunrise is 7:11 AM\, with dawn officially starting
at 6:40 AM. (How do they measure "dawn"? For that matter\, is sunrise when
the sun first peaks over the horizon\, or when it is completely above?) For
those hearty pagans who want to greet the turning of the seasons with
half-open eyes\, join us at the parking lot at the end of Drabbington Way
at 6:30 AM. We will hike up Cat Rock in the dark to celebrate the sunrise
with hot chocolate. NOTE: If it is completely overcast or raining\, we will
postpone the walk until the summer solstice.
