BREWING THE REVOLUTION – Bay State Scavenger Hunt!
The Golden Ball Tavern Museum is part of the state-wide scavenger hunt – “Brewing the Revolution”! The Memorial Hall Museum in Deerfield, MA is opening a new exhibit on May 30th called “Brewing Massachusetts : How Beer Shaped the Bay State”. The exhibit will run through October 2026. It will tell the story of Massachusetts brewing from the Pilgrims to the present through rare artifacts, photographs, and documents.
To kick off the exhibit they are running a digital app-based SCAVENGER HUNT throughout Massachusetts called “BREWING THE REVOLUTION”. This brings participants to historic taverns and beer-related sites across the state including the Golden Ball Tavern Museum! The challenge runs from May 24th to June 27th.
To play, you must first download the Eventzee App by searching for it in your app store (or scan the large code on the poster). After the start date of May 24th you can open the app and join the challenge with the Join code: BREWING. From there the scavenger hunt will be explained within the app. You will have to visit the Golden Ball Tavern and scan the Brewing the Revolution ‘Golden’ QR code to ‘check in’ at the Golden Ball Tavern.
If you plan to visit other sites in the challenge, you will need to scan the unique code found at each location. Ours is in the bulletin board just outside our Visitors Center entryway. Participants can complete in simple challenges and win prizes while learning about brewing in Massachusetts during the Revolution – and having fun!
Details of the hunt, prizes and more can be found on the website of the Memorial Hall Museum.
