On May 17 at 3:00 PM, the Weston Public Library Community Room will host an evocative program featuring cellist Velleda Miragias and pianist Eliko Akahori. The concert will include J.S. Bach’s Sonata No. 3 in G minor, BWV 1029, Clara Schumann’s Three Romances, Op. 22, and Claude Debussy’s Sonata for Cello and Piano.
Born in Paris and now based in Boston, Velleda Miragias is Associate Principal Cello with both the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra and the Cape Symphony and is an active performer and educator throughout New England, with training spanning leading conservatories in France and the United States. She is a dedicated chamber musician and recording artist, known for collaborations with distinguished performers and premieres of contemporary works. Joining her is acclaimed pianist Eliko Akahori, an internationally recognized recitalist and collaborator who has performed across the United States, Europe, and Asia alongside renowned artists and ensembles. A prize-winning musician and faculty member at Wellesley College, Akahori brings a dynamic and refined artistry to this compelling afternoon of music.
