First Parish Church in Weston is thrilled to welcome the International Institute of New England (IINE) for a viewing of “Finding Home: Stories from Recent Immigrants”, a short documentary about the journeys of immigrant families as they rebuild their lives in New England. Jeffrey Thielman, IINE President and CEO, and Sabira Khalili, who is featured in the film and serves as a grant writer at IINE, will join us to talk about the film, IINE’s work with refugees and immigrants during this challenging time, and ways we can step up and stand in solidarity with our newest neighbors. A light lunch will be provided.
For more than a century, IINE has been creating opportunities for newcomers to succeed through humanitarian relief, resettlement, education, career advancement, and pathways to citizenship. In 2024, it served more than 20,000 refugees and immigrants from 60 countries. Join us at First Parish Church in Weston on the 30th to learn more about this life-changing work and the power of community in fostering resiliance and belonging!
