At this meeting, the architects for the MS/HS Masterplan will present high-level options for renovations and new construction for the two schools and the pool. Overall study description:
The Town of Weston has engaged an architect, Lavallee Brensinger, to develop a master plan for the Weston Middle/High School Campus. The reasons for conducting the study include, among others:
- Several building systems are aging and need replacement—should the town renovate or rebuild?
- Schools lack adequate small group spaces, and some classrooms fall below state size recommendations.
- Enrollment is expected to grow 20-40% over the next decade.
- Recreation and athletics need upgrades, including the pool.
- The Middle and High Schools are the town’s biggest energy users — efficient, fossil-fuel free systems are needed to meet climate goals
