The Town of Weston invites residents, employees, and visitors to gather on the Town Green on Friday, September 11 at 8:30 a.m., for a solemn community observance marking the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks. As part of this remembrance, volunteers and staff will place 3,000 American and International flags across the Green—each one representing a life lost.
“This anniversary remains deeply meaningful to our community,” said Assistant to the Town Manager Steve Addonizio. “The flag display is a powerful reminder of the lives taken, the families forever changed, and the resilience that followed. We welcome residents to pause, reflect, and honor these individuals together.”
The installation will be visible through the last week of September, offering residents an opportunity to visit at their convenience. Community members are encouraged to walk among the flags, observe a moment of silence, and reflect on the significance of the day.
