The Mary Jo Rines Gallery at First Parish Church in Weston welcomes local artist Rena Cohen Shear for an exhibit celebrating the restorative power of art. On view through February 2, Personal Space is an exploration of color as an inherent and universal emotional language. Inspired by the silent and open spaces of nature, music, and deeply felt emotions, Rena uses gesture, texture, and color relationships to create dynamic abstract pieces that awaken the senses and invite quiet reflection.
Rena has been creating art for almost 40 years. An active member of the Greater Boston arts community, she belongs to Arts Wayland and the Concord Art and Cambridge Art Associations. Her work has been featured in numerous solo and group shows throughout the region, including most recently, a solo show at Bolton Public Library and group shows at Gallery Twist, Wellesley Public Library, and Galatea Fine Art in Boston.
Artist receptions Sunday, November 30, 11:30-12:30pm and Sunday, December 7, 2-4pm in the MJR Gallery, First Parish Church in Weston, 349 Boston Post Road.
The Gallery is free and open to the public 9:30am – 4pm weekdays, and 9:30am-12:30pm Sundays.
