For the twenty-fourth consecutive year, the Weston Recreation Department will lead a ceremony to remember the victims of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. Three thousand flags will be erected at Town Green, one for each victim. We are asking for volunteers to help with this memorial by placing flags that we provide into designated spots.
The event begins with a small ceremony remembering the victims of the attacks. At the sound of the church bell, all volunteers are asked to begin placing flags and continue until all 3,000 have been erected.
Volunteers are asked to arrive at by 8:30 AM, flag placement will begin at 8:45 – the time that the first plane collided with the World Trade Center.
For questions, please call the Recreation Department at 781-786-6260.
