All are invited to the Annual Open WFTA meeting & keynote speaker. We will briefly conduct essential WFTA business including governance updates and presentation fo our 2026 Annual Report. Afterward we proudly present Keynote Speaker Peter Gray, Ph.D. Professor of Psychology, Boston College and author of Free to Learn. Dr. Gray will speak on Restoring Childhood: Why Playing freely Outdoors Matters for All and How We Can Enable the Next Generation. Children and adults alike learn the most vital human skills — agency, courage, and resilience — through self-directed, unstructured play. Dr. Peter Gray will summarize research evidence showing how the lack of independent activity is a primary driver of psychological suffering in today’s youth. Following the talk, Dr. Gray will lead an interactive discussion of “what can WFTA and the Weston Community do to encourage and enable kids to really play in our beautiful natural settings?” Note: Parking: Limited on-site; overflow parking is available at the Weston Public Library. Please RSVP here.
