Nazda Alam Foundation to Host Annual Women’s Empowerment Fundraiser Featuring Vermont State Senator Kesha Ram Hinsdale and Immigration Leader Eva Millona
WESTON, MA – The Nazda Alam Foundation (NAF), a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to supporting the participation of Muslim women in social and political processes locally and globally, will host its Annual Fundraiser on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Islamic Center of Boston, located at 126 Boston Post Road, Wayland, MA 01778. The event will highlight NAF’s mission to advance civic engagement, education, and justice for Muslim women through voter information sessions, community outreach, and educational programming, including the production of documentaries addressing pressing global issues.
This year’s program will feature opening remarks from Nazda Alam, Founder and President, followed by an award presentation to Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan and a keynote address by Vermont State Senator Kesha Ram Hinsdale. The Foundation is honored to welcome Eva Millona as a featured speaker. Ms. Millona is an Immigration Attorney who served the Biden/Harris administration from 2021-2025 as DHS Assistant Secretary for Partnership and Engagement and Chief of the Office of Citizenship. She was the president and CEO of MIRA in 2010 and co-founded the National Partnership for New Americans. As a renowned leader and advocate for the empowerment of immigrant women and civic engagement, her work has inspired communities nationwide to increase their participation in social and political life. The evening will also include a celebration of NAF’s accomplishments, followed by dinner and photos.
U.S. Senator Ed Markey, Congresswoman Katherine Clark, Representative Alice Peisch, and Steve Grossman have already stepped forward with sponsorships to support the Nazda Alam Foundation’s important work empowering women in our community. Each is sponsoring one table, and their combined contributions will enable 20 Boston-area youth to attend this inspiring evening, ensuring the next generation of leaders is included in the conversation and uplifted by the experience.
The Nazda Alam Foundation continues to build on its legacy of empowering Muslim women through initiatives such as voter registration drives, informational sessions on immigration and legal status, and community involvement in the U.S. census and local elections. Its work also extends to global issues, as seen in the Foundation’s acclaimed documentary, Rohingya: Atrocity Against Women, and its commitment to producing more educational films in the future. The Annual Fundraiser promises to be an inspiring gathering of leaders, advocates, and community members dedicated to equity and justice.
