Join local pianist and composer Marvin Wolfthal as he returns to the Music Committee’s season on Sunday, December 7, at 3:00 PM in the Community Room. His program, “Franz Liszt in Italy,” will take audiences on a musical journey through highlights from Liszt’s Années de Pèlerinage, Volume II, featuring Il Penseroso, Canzonetta del Salvator Rosa, the Petrarch Sonnets, La lugubre gondola, and Venezia e Napoli.
With a distinguished career as a performer, scholar, and advocate for both European and American music—spanning major premieres in Milan, a celebrated teaching career, and award-winning compositions—Wolfthal brings both depth and poetry to this exploration of Liszt’s Italian inspirations.
The concert is free and open to the public, and the Community Room is handicapped accessible.
